Our Practice
G architects is a full-service Canadian architecture firm with four offices across Ontario, specializing in community-based architecture. Our core focus areas include Residential Care & Aging, Non-Acute Healthcare, Life Sciences, and Social and Education. G draws on the strength of 10 registered architects and has a total staff of 50 team members across our four offices located in Kingston, London, Timmins, and Toronto.
The Position
We are seeking a highly motivated and creative Marketing & Communications Intern to join our team at G architects for the summer term. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in marketing and communications within the architecture industry. The ideal candidate is passionate about storytelling, design, and building relationships through impactful content. As part of our marketing team, you will assist in proposal generation, graphic design, and the development of social media strategies to enhance our brand presence and support business development efforts.
Note: This is an in-person, paid internship based in our Toronto or London offices. The selected candidate will work on-site at the location most convenient for them, Monday to Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM.
Key Responsibilities
Proposal and Document Creation:
Assist in preparing and formatting marketing proposals, presentations, and reports.
Ensure proposals align with brand guidelines and project requirements.
Graphic Design:
Create visually appealing marketing materials, including brochures, presentations, and project sheets.
Maintain and update templates and assets to ensure consistency across all marketing collateral.
Social Media Management:
Develop and schedule engaging content for social media platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.).
Monitor analytics and provide insights to optimize social media performance.
Content Creation:
Write and edit blogs, newsletters, and other promotional materials.
Conduct interviews with team members to showcase projects and achievements on our website and social media.
Market Research:
Support competitive analysis and gather market insights to inform marketing strategies.
Stay updated on trends in architecture, design, and marketing to contribute fresh ideas.
Administrative Support:
Maintain and organize the marketing database, including project archives, staff CVs, and photography.
Assist with event planning and coordination as needed.
Any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Requirements:
Currently enrolled in a co-op program in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, or a related field.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator).
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
Experience with social media platforms and scheduling tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
A strong sense of design and attention to detail in visual presentations.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Collaborative mindset with the ability to work independently when needed.
Bonus Skills:
Experience with video editing software (e.g., Premiere Pro).
Knowledge of architecture or the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, Construction) industry.
